Beholding Glory Entry #2: Running

My feet hit the pavement to the rhythm of my body. My chest was warm and my lungs burned with the incessant strain of fill and empty. The wind flowed over my face like ocean waves lapping the shore. I moved through time and space with a forceful purpose. The end was my goal. Bushes and trees ran towards me as I ran towards them. The world gave way to me for these moments. A shade of doubt passed through my mind, “I’m tired. Better stop.” But I pressed on through the space towards the horizon. Like a cowboy riding into the sunset. My mind keenly aware of my body and soul. I am alive they said. And as one we beheld the glory of God.
